The brief: UNEP WCMC had originally planned a 2020 Christmas party for their team of over 500, who had been working hard in isolation during lockdown. After a difficult year facing the pandemic, they were very much looking forward to celebrating together.
However, as it became clear that another lockdown was imminent and case numbers were rising, the management decided to take the pre-emptive step to cancel the party and look for an alternative solution.
How could they bring the team together, make them feel valued, and give them a unique, ecologically sustainable gift?
